The Fjords of Norway

The journey.

The fjords photograph well and still undersell themselves — the scale only lands when the cliff wall keeps rising past where you assumed it would stop. We do them by boat and helicopter, staying in villages the cruise ships physically cannot reach.

The water A private boat through Nærøyfjord's narrows, waterfalls falling directly into the sea beside you, and a kayak morning when the water turns to glass.

The heights A helicopter day over the plateau — glaciers, summit lakes, a landing where lunch is unpacked at the edge of everything. Then down to a farm that has fed travellers for three hundred years.

Norway in summer barely bothers with night. Use the extra hours.
