Five nights in a superb tented camp, all game drives in a private or near-private vehicle, all meals and park fees, the light-aircraft hop from Nairobi to the Mara airstrip, and guides who read the grass, not a script.
Elevated — ₹11L – ₹16L for two
A private conservancy — off-road driving, night drives, walking safaris, sundowners wherever the evening is best — with a camp of a dozen tents at most and your own vehicle and guide throughout.
The rarest — ₹16L+ for two
The legendary camps at migration peak, a balloon at dawn with champagne where you land, a private photographic guide if the trip is also a portfolio, and a Nairobi townhouse night to land softly on either side.
Migration season (July–October) prices the top of each band and books out by March. February — green season, baby animals, dramatic skies — is the quiet connoisseur's Mara at gentler rates.
How the days unfold.
Day 1 · Mumbai → Nairobi
Six hours nonstop, an evening at a Nairobi house hotel, and dinner that resets you to safari time. Giraffe Manor is bookable for the tempted — months ahead.
Days 2–4 · The Mara proper
The morning light aircraft puts you on the airstrip by mid-morning; you're watching elephants before lunch. Three full days of dawn drives, bush breakfasts, and the theatre of the crossings in season — with a guide who knows which bend of the river the herds favour.
Day 5 · The slow morning
A walking safari or a Maasai village visit arranged with dignity on both sides, a last long lunch under a fig tree, and the afternoon flight back to Nairobi for the overnight home — or onward to the coast.
Five nights is the honest minimum; seven adds Amboseli's elephants under Kilimanjaro or the Kenyan coast. Zanzibar pairs beautifully if the journey wants a beach ending.
Reserve or conservancy?
The reserve holds the river crossings; the private conservancies hold the silence. Off-road driving, night drives and walking are only possible in the conservancies — and vehicle limits mean a leopard sighting is yours, not a parking lot's. The best journeys use both.

How do you get from Nairobi to the Mara?
A 45-minute light aircraft from Wilson Airport to the camp's airstrip — game viewing starts from the window seat. Driving takes five to six hours and is only worth it as part of a longer overland design.
