You lie there doing inventory: Scorpius, the Magellanic Clouds, four satellites, one meteor you will mention for years. The desert cools and ticks. Something far away makes a sound like a door closing in another house.
In the morning a vehicle appears with coffee, as if the whole thing had been perfectly reasonable. Which, by then, it was.
