Most Indian weddings fall between November and February, and the calendar is kind to you. The Maldives enters its dry season in December and stays clear until April. Mauritius is lovely in November and early December, before cyclone season from January to March. Japan gives maples in late November, and Lapland gives snow and the northern lights from December.
Christmas and New Year are the most expensive fortnight of the year at every island resort, often with minimum stays. If the wedding is in mid-December, leaving on the 26th costs more than leaving on the 17th or waiting until 8 January.
